Learners can gain access to the qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as outlined in the QCTO RPL Policy. RPL allows learners with prior knowledge and skills to be credited for parts of a qualification, without having to complete all learning modules from scratch. This pathway is ideal for individuals who have already acquired competencies in specific areas but have not yet formalized their qualifications.
RPL for Access:
Learners can access the qualification through RPL for Access, which is facilitated by an accredited education institution, skills development provider, or workplace accredited to offer the specific qualification or part-qualification. The RPL process assesses the learner’s existing skills and knowledge against the qualification’s requirements, ensuring that prior learning is recognized.
RPL for External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA):
For learners seeking access to the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA), accredited providers and approved workplaces must assess prior learning using the internal assessment criteria outlined in the qualification’s curriculum document. This assessment confirms whether learners have met the necessary requirements through their prior experience. Upon verification, accredited providers or workplaces will issue a Statement of Results, confirming that the learner is eligible to proceed with the EISA.
Entry Requirements:
To qualify for this process, learners must meet the following minimum entry requirement:
- An NQF Level 3 qualification.
